Alzheimer’s and Dementia Training (Approved by the Alzheimer’s Association)

Earns 1 Training Hour. Introduces students to the critical steps to safely transferring patients using a variety of methods including rolling patients in bed, using a gait belt transfer, a pivot transfer, a mechanical lift, and a transfer board.

Earns 1.5 Hours. The course will give an overview of the types of emergencies and disasters that caregivers may encounter in their jobs.

Completion of this course certifies that the student has a complete understanding of the basics of Alzheimer's disease and dementia, fundamentals of person-centered care, assessment and care planning, dementia related behaviors and communication, as well as support of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). .
