An extensive course covering the best practices for caregivers to use such as proper hand hygiene, cleaning and sanitization methods, and antibiotic stewardship. Included in this course is an overview of Personal Protective Equipment and its importance, as well as when to use it and what PPE is best given the circumstances. Students will be instructed on preventative measures to take when preparing food for patients and tips for environmental cleaning in the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms to mitigate and reduce infection. Proper handling of sharps and regulated waste disposal methods are also covered extensively.
